I smell like a campfire

Hola Familia
So apparently there is a fire on the border of the United States and Canada and let me tell you we are getting all of the smoke up here. Seriously its has been so smoky! My cloths have a little bit of a campfire smell to them. This week we had a lot of good lessons planned but a lot of cancellations. But that's okay we are still going strong with finding. We have a new investigator! Her name is Rubiela! She is a referral and she is super sweet! We taught her the restoration and she was amazing she made all of these connections by herself! We are headed back this week for the Plan of Salvation so that's super exciting! Leila is so sweet! We weren't able to have an appointment with her last week but this upcoming week we get to see her. This week has flown by but at the same time gone really slow. Its super funny how time works as a missionary. Walk and talk August is finally over and we get to have our car again! I am super excited for that!!! Its been a good transfer but its going to be an amazing area. I am really excited! Love you familia! I hope you have a wonderful week!

Finding, finding, and more finding

Hola Familia
So this week was super good. We have had the adventure of a life time finding this week. We have a list of potentials so we are just working on stopping by there houses. Its been super good. We had a lesson with Leila and we taught the restoration. She is incredible! She loves church and wants to be baptized. It was super cool because she had a lot of questions and I was super nervous that I wouldn't be able to explain them in Spanish but the gift of tongues is real because I could totally understand and we were able to answer all her questions. She really is amazing! I am super excited to continue to teach her. We have a lot of people that hopefully become new investigators this week. Wish us luck. They sound like incredible people I am super excited! So I had to pull out my winter clothson Friday. It was SO cold. It had been raining all night and it was still pouring rain when we woke up in the morning. But we headed out with out our car and our one umbrella into the rain. By 4:00 our cloths were drenched through. They were so wet. Seriously! The pouring rain eventually turned into freezing snow.....but no worries not the snow that sticks. Just the slushy snow. It was so cold. We had dinner with the other two sets of Spanish Elders in the branch and when we all came in....holy every single one of us was freezing and wet. I froze and all I could think about was "its August....what is life going to be like in January" The adventure is real! Anyway it was real and the next day it warmed right back up. Pretty sure Calgary has the weirdest weather in the whole world. Haha Its great! I love you familia. I hope you have a wonderful and fantastic week!!!

New area, New companions, and new miracles

Hola Familia
So this week was transfers! I am training Hermana Dean and she is beyond cute! I was so excited to meet her! She is already such an amazing missionary. We were sent to the Foothills zone in Calgary and we are serving in the Spanish Branch. It has been an adventure. We don't have any investigators but we have so many potentials. The office gave a list of Spanish people in the foothills area last transfers that they randomly found. So Hermana Dean and I spent Saturday going around and knocking on their doors. We didn't have much luck but we did accidentally run into one of the families in our ward. The Morales family! They are the sweetest family. I didn't even know it was their house until they answered the door and all of the sudden I realized that I knew them. We talked with them and shared a message and then they invited us back to dinner yesterday. They were sooo sweet! Seriously! So so so sweet! Alright so here is the miracle....we went back on Sunday and had dinner with them. They asked us if we had any investigators and we said "not yet but we are working hard to find them" Then Hermana Morales gave us a big list of Spanish people who live in the area! I was in shock! Never in my life have I received so many potentials. Hermana Morales and her family are truly amazing! So this week we are going to go and contact them! Its funny to see how the lord works with his miracles. We just happen to run into the Morales family's house and it was totally inspired! I feel like my Spanish was a lot better this week! The Lord has most certainly done the talking. I feel like he is so close right now. I am most certainly blessed. My new zone is super awesome! There are a ton of hard working missionaries for sure! This area is super beautiful! There are lots of pine trees and its just gorgeous. I thought the North zone was pretty but the Foothills zone is most certainly gorgeous! This week is going to be amazing! I am super excited to contact all these wonderful people! Its going to be amazing! The Lord works in mysterious ways but I am so glad to be here! Have a wonderful week familia! Love you lots!

El bautismo de Khessy!

Hola Familia
Okay so let me start out by saying the weather in Calgary is the strangest thing in the whole world. We had two massive hale storms this week, hahaha and its walk and talk august so that's fun. We were drenched! Crazy! We were trying to get to dinner at a members house and it was so crazy because were literally running through massive puddles and rivers. When we got to the members house we were so wet. They said we looked like wet dogs. Thank goodness we are super good friends because haha they gave us some sweats to eat in while they dried our dresses. Oh the adventure was real! The hale looked like snow....hahaha I thought it was suppose to be August;) We were getting ready for Khessy baptism all week which was incredible!!!!!!! She is the most amazing girl ever! She has the most beautiful testimony! Her baptism was so special and you can see the light of Christ in her eyes. It was kind of stressful getting ready for it but what an incredible amazing thing! I absolutely love her to pieces. She is the most amazing member! She is just truly incredible! She received the gift of the Holy Ghost on Sunday and I just loved it! She was beaming! She just really is incredible!!!! There were so many missionaries at the baptism. The AP's showed up which was kind of funny! We had one set of Spanish Elders and our District leader. Funny story about the font. So it take 3 hours to fill up.....hahaha what in the world. So we went 3 hours early and started the font. Well 2 1/2 hours later...the font is like a lava pit. The water was so hot and we all looked at each other and said. She is going to get burns from this water! So we stopped the water and tried to turn it to cold....there is only 1 temperature....MORDOR! So we started filling up pitchers of cold water from the kitchen and dumping it into the font. Crazy!!! The bathroom was steaming. We got it down to a reasonable temperature....or so we thought but when they got in to do the baptism they both gasped because it was a little hot. Haha and everyone thought Canada would be having baptism with Ice chunks floating around....nope haha just boiling;) It was an adventure for sure! The baptism was truly amazing! I loved being apart of it! I getting transferredThursday so wish me luck! Its been fun serving in ward, then the ward and the branch, and now I am just going to be in the branch. I am training too.....ahhhh! So fun! Love you familia!
