It's SO cold

Hola Familia
So this week has been a little chilly! Hermana Morgan and I are working hard to replenish the teaching pool and find new investigators. We have some pretty amazing potentials so we are praying that we can be prepared and inspired so that we can teach them. All will be well. The field is still white and man we are working hard to harvest it. This week we had exchanges and we are starting to run a little low on the kilometers our President has given us for the month so Sister Kendrick (my STL) and I went walking. Hahahaha it was -27.....and oh man i could feel it. It was so cold but kind of fun! After a while we couldn't feel our faces hahaha so talking at the door was a little funny. The best part my hair frosted.....it really did I will send pictures. Hahaha cold cold cold. Sometimes it reminds me of Wyoming without the mountains. Kind of funny ya. Luis was confirmed yesterday in Sacrament and the Stake President was there. He came up and talked to Luis and Leila after. Leila looks so wonderful and happy. Luis said he feels so welcomed into Young Mens. He came out afterwards with Duty to God and all the other Young mens books. There are Deacons his age as well. I cant wait to help him prepare to pass the Sacrament. Its been a great week and we have another wonderful week to come! Huge shout out to my sister Chantelle who got engaged this week!!! I am so happy for you Telle! Love you so much familia! I hope that you all have a wonderful and incredible week!

El Bautismo de Luis

Hola Familia
We had Luis' baptism this week and it was incredible. We went over and taught the last two lessons and got him ready for his interview. He was so excited and so was his mom. I loved seeing the absolute joy on their faces when we talked about planning the baptism. its been a really spiritual week. We had the chance to go to the temple on Wednesday with Hermana Dean and Ratliff and it was incredible. I love the temple so much. Then on Saturday morning Hermana Morgan and I drove to the church and filled the font all ready for the baptism. It has been so cold this week but Saturday morning it was beautiful. The sun shone right through the window into the font and it was so peaceful and the spirit was so strong. Luis told his mom that he thought God was really happy for him because it was such a beautiful morning. He was so excited and the baptism was perfect. Leila's was priceless as she watched her son get baptized. I am so happy that Heavenly Father gave me the chance to teach this incredible family. I love Leila so much and her son is so amazing. They welcomed him into young mens and soon he will be able to pass the Sacrament! Wow so incredible! The branch is truly amazing I am so glad that I am serving here in the foothills. Hahaha funny story about the cold though. Downtown street contacting in -20 is so cold! We were freezing!! hahahaha my hands hurt so bad. If you didn't keep moving you would freeze. Hahaha Sister Kendrick's hair frosted......legit it was white it was so cold. Hahahaha the adventure is real in Canada. I love it! Have a good week familia love you!

When you look at life through the Lord's eyes

Hola Familia
I am so glad that you all had such a wonderful week. For us its been a little bit of a different week up here in Canada. We are still preparing for Luis' (Leila's son) baptism this week. He is the sweetest little boy ever! He is turning twelve and gets to pass the Sacrament soon! We are just so excited especially his sweet mom! I have felt so blessed to have taught these wonderful people. First his mom and now Luis. He is so sweet and they are such wonderful strong members of the church! Unfortunately things that we had planned this week fell through. It was a little bit of an interesting experience because I had to drop to my knees really pray for guidance. I am so incredibly grateful for the Lord and for his love. I have felt the lords love and seen his hands guiding and helping me through the week. There was one day that I prayed so hard saying "heavenly father I just want to find the people who you have prepared. Please lead me to them" Hermana Morgan and I were sitting in the family history center printing off a talk for another lesson we had planned and I had the strongest impression that we needed to leave. So I looked at Hermana Morgan and said "hey I don't know why but can we leave" she was like "that's fine where do you want to go?" I had this feeling the Roca family. So we drove over to the house and it was pitch black not a light on in the house. In my head I was like no one is there but okay. So we got out and went and knocked on the door. Like I thought no one was there but as I turned to walk away I had the strongest feeling that we need to go and knock on the house next door. So I turned to Hermana Morgan and said "can we knock on the house next door?" she looked at me and said "of course"  So we did. This house is a couple from Mexico!!!!!!! He is so sweet and he knows the church from his kids and here is the best part. He was like "actually I have a really good friend who is in the 70? I am not sure what that means but its that part of your church?" I think my jaw dropped to the ground! We just tracked into a man with a friend who is a general authority! So we have an appointment set up for this week! After we left Hermana Morgan and I just dropped to our knees saying thank you to Heavenly Father. This is the Savior work and I have been so amazed at everyone whom the Lord has prepared. The field is white and already to harvest! The Lord loves his children and the Lord loves his missionaries. I am so so so grateful to serve here in this mission with these wonderful people. No matter what happens I would not trade these experiences for the world! I love you so much familia! I am so grateful the I can be a missionary! Thank you family! I LOVE YOU!
